The weekend that Who returned to Manchester in a big way.

The largest independent Doctor Who event brought 1750 Who fans into the Printworks in Manchester and spread over the 7 venues and the main concourse made for a day that I will never forget. My first sole event as a Promoter and despite some teething troubles with late opening venues, late arriving guests and being let down by a number of volunteer staff on the day I am pleased that inaugural Vworp event lives in the memory of those who attended as something very special indeed.

From the site of three Cybermen stood at a bar, Davros chasing an old woman on a mobility scooter, the TARDIS parked front and centre in the Courtyard to the hundreds of happy faces meeting Who cast and crew legends from across the decades.

Knowing that he would be unable to make the trip up north for the day Tom Baker agreed to be a part of the event by agreeing to a private signing for Vworp and by way of a video message to be played. Likewise, Lalla Ward was also keen to be involved (one of our main panels was on the 'lost' story Shada that had recently been completed by way of animation) and she too signed especially for Vworp.

It was a day made possible by the people that bought the tickets to a first time event and I will always be grateful for that.

Check out some of the photos below from that very special day.
